Burdah merupakan suatu qasidah yang berisi syair tentang pujian atau sholawat kepad SAW. Syair tersebut diciptakan oleh Imam al Busiri dari Mesir. Qashidah Burdah memang selalu didengungkan oleh para pecintanya setiap saat. Di berbagai negeri Islam, baik di negeri-negeri Arab maupun ‘ajam (non-Arab), ada majelis-majelis khusus untuk pembacaan Burdah dan penjelasan bait-baitnya. Tak henti-hentinya muslimin di seluruh penjuru dunia menjadikannya sebagai luapan kerinduan pada Nabi. Burdah bukan sekadar karya. Ia dibaca karena keindahan kata-katanya.
